During his fellowship at UCSF’s Global Brain Health Institute, his stepfather was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease—an experience that shaped his reflections on memory, meaning, and a political climate he sees in a new light. With warmth and wit, he offers one man’s perspective on dementia and its impact on our lives and society.
